On Thursday 22nd November 2007, it will mark ten years
since the tragic loss of one of music’s shining stars…
Michael Hutchence.

To commemorate his passing and celebrate his music some of Sydney’s & Melbourne’s young indie musicians and some “very special guests” will come together for their tribute to him at The Manning Bar, Sydney University on Saturday 24th November.

This night will culminate in a bringing together of artists who knew and loved Michael and were his contemporaries, as well as those who acknowledge his influence on their music.

The Memorial Concert for Michael, will be a “happy” one, celebrating his life works, focused on Michael, and also, to celebrate his remarkable life with INXS. At the same time it will highlight his solo projects and his inspiration to people worldwide.  All of which were a wonderful contribution to the music industry. Music fans everywhere continue to appreciate or discover Michael and INXS’ music anew.

The night here in Sydney will begin at 7.30pm. There will be lucky door prizes, merchandise, memorabilia auctions and some great rare clips and footage shown throughout the night. 

“Michael believed in universal love and peace and particularly in helping our youth in their troubled years,” said Kell Hutchence.

Kell’s words inspired Ange Perou to pledge all monies raised in memory of Michael to Father Riley’s Youth Off The Streets charity organisation and Scholarship Program. 

Youth Off The Streets is a Sydney based charity organisation with the aim of providing opportunities for homeless and disadvantaged young Australians through the provision of residential, educational and psychological services.   The Youth Off The Streets Scholarship Programme provides financial and personal support for young people to pursue their dreams in any field, including (but not limited to): education and training; visual or performing arts; sport; trade skills; and music.

The concert will begin at 8.30pm and artists performing are:

Steve Balbi, Mark Gable, Mandy Kane, Justin Bull, Dave White, Guy Delandro, MojoRising, Genevieve Little, Matt Anderson, Annelise Maurer and some other “very special guests”

They will be supported by an incredible house band including Nick Meredith (guitar) & Lloyd G (drums).

Our MC for the night is Michael Smith (editor Drum Media) and other special guests
